Chapter 13

So like, why are Sora-kun and Hime-kun riding on Mikejima-senpai’s shoulders anyway?
HuHu~ ♪ It’s because of Sora~ He was being swept away by the crowd, so now he gets to take a ride!
Oh, makes sense. That’s pretty nice of you, Mikejima-senpai.
Hahaha! Do Hinata-san and Yuuta-san want to play with Mama too?
Both of my shoulders are full, buuut I’ve got two free arms! You can try swinging on them ♪

Kagehira, come over here. There’s a Victorian-era clock on display. What a waste it would be to leave without ever seeing this!

Don’t call me tiny! I just didn’t wanna do it, so that’s why!
Urgh~ …I feel sick from spinning around and around like that. Is there somewhere I can go sit down?
Ohh, there is a café inside the museum. Why not take a break there?
They renovated the interior to match the rest of the museum, so it’d be fun to pass by there even just to take a peek at it ♪

Ahaha Oshi-san, you’re gettin’ all fidgety there~ ♪ D’ya wanna go? Or maybe you’re wantin’ to go back to the dressing toom?
Hmph. That can hardly be called a dressing room. It’s a mere storage closet dressed up to look the part.
I’d much rather spend our time until the show looking at the displays in the café than in that place.
It was a pretty large-scale renovation, so it looks like they were too busy to work on the dressing rooms.
Sorry if it inconveniences you! I’d like to apologize on behalf of the museum staff!
I’m not exactly complaining, Mikejima. Well, I am aware that what I said could be taken in such a way. So the apology should be mine.

Mama uses 驚き桃の木山椒の木 (odoroki momo no ki sansho no ki, lit. “surprise, peach tree, Japanese prickly ash”) here. It’s a pretty outdated phrase that is used somewhat ironically that just means that you’re really surprised! But the kicker is that all three parts of the phrase rhyme! So it’s… fun! No, the trees have nothing to contribute to the meaning except their sound.
