Chapter 7
On the day of the shoot
Hey, Anzu-san~… ♪
I thought we’d be the first ones to arrive, but you were already here. Well anyway, let’s do our best today, Anzu-san.
We practiced a bunch for today, so expect great things from us~ ♪
Amazing! It is yet another wonderful day!
Ah—look over there, Shu! There’s a flower shop! How beautiful, shall we go take a look?
Oh, your expression says this is no time for a detour. I understand; you don’t wish to be late, do you?
Well, if we don’t have the time to go to the florist, then I shall become one! Here, here, some lilacs for you.
Why don’t we search for some happy lilacs together? Finding one is said to bring you luck.1
Wataru. If you attract too much attention, I’m going to pretend I don’t know you.
Oya, what a tragic thing to say! Are we not old friends, you and I?
We are. That’s precisely why you gave me these lilacs, yes?2
Fufufu. I see you are well-acquainted with the language of flowers~ That saves me the trouble of explaining it ♪
Ah—Hibiki-senpai! Itsuki-senpai!
You must be really good friends to come here together~ ♪
We are. You two are always together as well, so it’s the same for you, no?
Mm~ Surprisingly, we really aren’t. We’re in different classes, so usually we just hang out with friends from our classes instead.
Well, we have been practicing for the commercial, so we’ve been together pretty much every day recently.
Yup. Being with you morning, noon, and night every day made me suuuper happy~ I wish it could be like this forever ♪
You both appeared to be quite below par during practice. Have you improved your technique since then?
Not to worry~ We’ve been born anew since then ♪ Well, just keep your eyes on us until the end.
…Very well. I pray this isn’t just lip service.
Just watch~ Hey hey, Itsuki-senpai, what’s in that bag you’re pulling around, anyway?
Mm? Oh, they’re the props and costumes you’ll be using for the shoot.
Huh? But we only asked you to make the props for us, Itsuki-senpai, so…?
Those ordinary, plain shirts and pants you received from your client go entirely against my aesthetics.
I just so happened to have some leftover fabric and didn’t want it to go to waste, so I decided to tweak it a bit to my liking. Or was that unnecessary of me?
No no, not at all! Wow, these are the outfits? You made them look so cool!
Fufufu. Shu is quite the fastidious person, after all~ The props are perfect too, so this film will certainly be of the highest quality.
Now then, we should start filming at once… no, before that. Hinata-kun, Yuuta-kun, please come over here.
……? What is it?
Uu, I’m a bit nervous about what you’re gonna say.
No need to be nervous. I just want to cheer you on, from a director to his leading actors.
Hinata-kun, Yuuta-kun, you’ve worked hard up until today. You two can perform tricks that even I can’t imitate.
Wh—? Yuuta-kun, did you hear that just now?!
Y–yeah. The Hibiki-senpai said we can do things even he can’t do…!
Oya oya? Why are you so surprised by this?
Of course we’re surprised~! Since they call you an omnipotent genius, you know?
I can’t even begin to think of something that someone like you wouldn’t be able to do.
If you can’t do something, there’s no way we could!
That’s not true. You two possess a skill… a powerful weapon that I cannot possibly hope to imitate.
A powerful weapon…?
Yes. You two, 2wink, were born with the great idiosyncrasy of being twins.
If one can master the technique, it’s possible for them to perform as if having cloned themself.
But no matter how hard they try, they will never be able to share their soul with another the way twins do. This is undoubtedly your strongest weapon—and one that only you two may wield.
So please, have confidence in yourselves for this shoot.
Hibiki-senpai…
Thank you very much for the encouragement! We’ll definitely do our best!
I kinda feel like I’ve been praised for being a twin rather than my actual abilities, but…
Being twins definitely does give us a weapon that others don’t have, so we can’t not make use of that.
Aniki, let’s make a commercial that’ll knock the socks off of everyone who sees it!
Yeah, I know we can pull this off, Yuuta-kun!
Hibiki-senpai. I know I’ve already said this, but thank you so much for being our director.
I’ve always respected you, Hibiki-senpai, but now it’s gotten stronger… or I mean, I’ve come to admire you even more!
You’re incredible at what you do. It was an honor to work under you, and to be encouraged by an amazing, esteemed senpai like you!
As 2wink, we’ll definitely show you our best performance!
